You ask about paintings that are not too realistic. However, there are many different types of realism, not to mention different painting styles within each of the various types of realism. For example here are some plein air paintings that are somewhere between realism and impressionism.

If you're looking for a plein air watercolor journal, handprint has an interesting journal (many of his paintings are plein air).

If you are more interested in discussion (chit chat) with other plein air artists there are sites like wetcanvas and others.

If you are just looking for a certain type of art, the type of watercolor paintings you describe can be found at this site;

It’s hard to know exactly what you’re looking for.

Sorry about the two posts but this software seems to only allow one link per post.

Jeans, there are a number of threads that contain information about plein air painting on this site. Just use the site search button at the top of this page, and type in plein air.

If you’re looking for another site with information I’d recommend this one;

Do you have specific questions about plein air painting or are you interested in reading generalized chit chat on the topic?

Does anyone look at, or know of, a good blog on plein air painting by a watercolor artist, who is not too realistic?
