Marie,

Since I am clearly one of your admirers and appreciate both your paintings and your clear and helpful posts, I am delighted that you are considering either publishing a book, or perhaps even creating a DVD along the lines Rekha suggests. I also hope you will begin to teach workshops and make information about them available through venues such as Cheap Joe's catalog.

You graciously began an index of this forum, and perhaps you could complete that project and use it as a core of information for the book. You could quote some of the best posts, giving credit where that is possible (where contributor names and information is available).

Please go for it!

Marie I think you could do a great book on "traditional" watercolor.
Too many books rely on tricky techniques. Your paintings are very straight forward and your book should be the same.
I still refer to John Pike's books, which have step by step demos. I think you should use the same approach. Too many painters today don't even how to do a wash, the basis of all watercolor.

Just depends the level of readers you are aiming at, Marie. The market is flooded with books for beginners and then there is the other end which doesn't help much like Creative Artist. The best that I think would help me would be you picking a subject to paint and then take it through from beginning to end. Also, something in multimedia would vastly encourage the reader. Just my opinion though

Okay, I'll try to get something started here.

I am thinking about writing a watercolor book in 2008, and I want your input. I have posted a fair amount of pictures and text here over the past few years. What have you found most useful? What would you like to hear more about?
