I need to know if anyone has ordered and used the new plein air package from Joe's called the Eric Michaels plein air easel. Does it tilt back?? I need to order something for an upcoming trip. |

I must admit that I didn't check any luggage. Had I any check-ins, I could have packed some tubes (also risking theft of valuables.) Gary |

I flew from Tampa FL to Buffalo NY recently (Oct 06) and had no trouble with watercolor pencils and waterholding brushes (emptied of course). I did have it hand inspected by the security people. The restrictions within the US should be similar to those crossing to the UK and Ireland. I did avoid tubes because they cost too damn much to just throw away at the airport! Gary |

Instead of starting a new thread and cluttering the field, I thought I'd use this. I am planning a trip to Ireland and wonder if anyone who has travelled recently had difficulty transporting paints on airlines, since tubes contain liquids and brushes are pointed. I am also hoping to take a metal halfpan palette and wonder if that will be allowed or not. |

I am going to be traveling from the Pacific North West to Tennessee. Anything interesting I could check out along the way? (Leaving the middle of this month.) |

Thanks. Will be wandering about in a 5th wheel with paints at hand ready to stop and paint anything that catches my fancy. Want to check out galleries and supply stores too. I have heard about the beauty of Iowa. I understand I can access the net via computers at the local libraries so I will be checking in periodically. A painting adventure....Ohhh yes, I am excited! |

I'm going to be in eastern Virginia around Thanksgiving. Does anyone have any suggestions of good outdoor or wildlife painting locations (assuming reasonable weather)? |

On the beauty of Iowa, it is very beautiful and the land changes with the different directions that you go. We live in the southeastern part of Iowa where there are alot of corn and beans fields. As you go north toward Dubuque, the landscape changes and moves into more rolling hills. Of course I like the various lakes and rivers around to paint. I think that it is important to see the beauty around you no matter where you are. Just take the moment and really look - quite inspiring. |

Hi Guys, Here I am in Duck River Tennessee. What a picturesque state. But wow oh golly! I am so impressed with the beauty of this nation. Idaho, with golden larches blazing among the deep greens soaring up sheer mountain sides to the crystal sky way above my head..... Wyoming, draped in creamy beige, sage blue green and ochre gold velvet blankets rolling away to meet a distant sky which comes all the way down to my knees.....Illinois, with russet corn stubble in neat rows leading the eye down long fields to grayed blue hedgerows.....What a deal! I feel blessed that God gave me the painter eyes for seeing truly and the sensitivity to absorm and feel what I am seeing. Hopefully He also gave me the hand to brush with. And I have not seen Iowa yet, but you Iowans have me licking my lips in anticipation. Happy trails to meeeeeeee |
